AIDS Walk Houston is an exciting, non-competitive event that increases community awareness and educated Houstonians about HIV/AIDS. Proceeds from AIDS Walk Houston benefit AIDS Foundation Houston as well as several other Houston-area HIV/AIDS service organizations. The funds that participants raise support over 100,000 Houstonians each year, providing them with, education, pediatric programs, housing, food, medical care, counseling, and job training. By joining Team SNAP, you are helping to raise funds for SNAP's Animal AID Program.
SNAP's Animal AID Program (AAP) provides free and reduced-cost services to dogs and cats living in families affected by HIV and AIDS. Study after study has shown that animal companions not only help people living with illness live happier lives but also more healthy lives. Sadly, all too often persons living with HIV/AIDS must surrender their furry friends due to the financial burdens they face. With this in mind, SNAP created the Animal Aid Program (AAP).
